Shift Locking, Body Poppin’

It appears as though the shift lock solenoid has stopped working.  This pretty much means that I can now shift out of park without my foot on the brake.

P1762 Solenoid for selector level lock-N110: short to B+

I had Audi inspect the fault and it does appear to be something wrong with the solenoid part of the shifter assembly.  As per usual you cannot just replace the solenoid, you have to replace almost everything attached to it.

Think I might pass on this as the added benefits of this failsafe feature isn’t worth that much to me.
